Is the VR Headset good for children? Virtual Reality is a new kind of experience that has come to the fore in recent times. The word was first included in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1987 and was first seen in Judas Mandala’s 1982 science fiction book by Damien Broderick.
The concept was later incorporated into the movies, and in 1939, the first VR device, a camera-like product, was launched under the brand name View-Master. A three-dimensional visual model that includes two windows and a disk-like collection of 7 photos to keep an eye on. You have probably experienced this. All it has to do is hold the device for both eyes and press a button. Then we can look at each of the photos. So we don’t have to be jealous of the age that VR is just for kids.
But modern VR hatches are far ahead of what we’ve experienced. Adding an attached screen or our smartphone will create the visuals, so the screen is positioned very close to the eye when wearing the head. So many people have problems with eye disorders, the phone being in close proximity to the brain, and the phone’s signals, rays, etc. can be adversely affected. Both Facebook’s Oculus Rift and Samsung’s Gear VR headsets are recommended for those over 13 years of age, and Sony’s PlayStation VR headset is recommended for those over 12 years old. They say that HTC’s Vive is not designed for children, but Google’s low-tech cardboard headset is for adults to use. But those companies do not go into detail about the age-old recommendation. So what does health and western science say about this?
According to a 2014 study by the University of California, mice have been studied in virtual environments created by a screen. They observed that about half of the neurons in the VR environment were detected in the space detection space than in the normal environment.
According to Marientina Gotsis, director of the Center for Creative Media and Behavioral Health at the University of California, young children’s head is much less robust than adults, and that wearing too much headset for too long can lead to brain damage. She also says that young children do not understand or may be reluctant to remove their eyes when they wear them for long periods of time.
The children are reprimanded when they watch TV, “Don’t look too close,” but this VR technology is like watching TV with one eye. This is why many parents are worried about the possibility of children’s eyes twisting. But the American Academy of Ophthalmology says they have not seen any evidence of permanent disability, despite being exposed for a long time. So there is no need to fear it.
Usually, the first thing we need to do is look at our eyeballs at the object we want to see. The lenses are then adjusted sufficiently to produce a clear image. But when viewed through this modern VR, the lens only changes when one is looking at a flat-screen. Therefore, it is often possible to minimize eye movement and if the eyelash intervals are minimized, dehydration can cause the eye to feel itchy.
Peter Howorth, a senior professor of ophthalmology at Loughborough University in the UK, says that VR can be used to diagnose children with blindness and loss of control. Because they are easy to use and cause headaches and tired eyes, they can identify their condition at an early age and seek immediate treatment.
Not too much of anything
Despite all the risks and know-how, we do not hesitate to enjoy the latest technology. So this article does not mean that VR is a big bad thing and should be rejected. Because when you experience a computer game, our favorite movie or an educational app through VR, it all loses its fun.
But once we put on a VR headset, we focus on it, not on the eyes. What happens is that when we get another new PC game, we lose sight of it and the restrictions on using VR. So what we need to do is to divide the time into ten minutes and give this person a break for at least five minutes. On the other hand, the VR headsets that the phone has been experiencing are very hot. This is not suitable for its battery life. Getting plenty of rest so you and your phone can be healthy.
